Monmouth CREA was well represented in Trenton during NJEA’s Lobby Days in June. Ten of our leadership and retired members traveled to Trenton where they had opportunities to talk with legislators about the annual pension payment threat, method of future payments and the evaluation issues for active members. Several members went to the State House to lobby more than one time. Legislators got the opportunity to see that the “daytime face” of NJEA is well informed and concerned about what is happening in Trenton because it impacts all members and our families.
By now you know that NJEA/NJREA was successful with the evaluation procedures being reviewed. The pension issues continues. Be sure to read your publications and go to the NJEA.org website for updates. Gloria Furey is our Government Relation contact.
Keep up the good effort to fight for our benefits!
